Once again, I didn't pay the closest attention to this game. But on the other hand, guess who finally got his taxes done!! I'll restate what I said before: the Nationals are good. Gavin Floyd pitched well until the Nationals started seeing him for the third time around. Even though neither of these games have been blowouts whatsoever, I still fully expected the Sox to lose them both. It would be really nice, though, to win this last one. I'm not ready to fall below .500 yet.
I hear Gordon Beckham might be headed to the DL. In all seriousness, at least this will give Conor Gillaspie some more time to prove himself. It couldn't hurt Beckham to have some competition, right?
Stat of the Day: The last time the Sox played at Washington was 2010, and they swept the series with wins from JJ Putz (a game Gavin Floyd started against Stephen Strasburg), Jake Peavy, and Freddy Garcia. Oh, to be facing that Nationals team...
