01/31/2012

- Happy transfer deadline day! Follow along here.

- Remember Kevin Hart, the kid who lied about being recruited by Oregon and Cal? Well, I guess he's actually being recruited now. Don't worry, it's only by Division II schools.

- Funbag.

TWOFER from Matt:

- Could Peyton Manning be done forever?

- Not all cheerleaders are attractive. In fact, some are frightening.

- The Carolina Panthers changed their logo, but don't worry, the turquoise is still there.

- Dwight Howard to the Bulls sure would be interesting.

- Here's my new favorite weekly feature, Bristolmetrics!

- I want a dog assistant real bad.

Here's a TWOFER via Nate:

- Guns N' Roses will be in Chicago! On February 19!

- Skip Schumaker's baseball card actually features the rally squirrel.

01/27/2012

- Remember when Joe Paterno died twice a few days ago? Well, CBS fired the guy responsible for the first death.

- GMiDHF.

- Oh yay, Arsenal is more screwed than we thought!

- If battery life is important to you, then apparently the Droid Maxx (one X away from being porn!) is a great choice.

- Here's what it looks like to play in a dog park from the dog's point of view. Kind of cool, actually.

01/26/2012

- Bayern Munich attempted a PR stunt that is so stupid and so did not work. Pretty funny stuff. [kind of via Nate, but I saw the article first]

- Haha, Theo Walcott has a children's book called TJ and the Hat-trick.

- Apparently there's going to be a third Hangover movie, which is bad news for everyone.

- Pat Sajak has been drunk on Wheel of Fortune, which is funny news for everyone.

- Jamboroo.

- #6 - This makes me want to buy a Fire jersey.

01/25/2012

- Someone created a ridiculously detailed Dunder Mifflin Counterstrike map. Very impressive.

- Yeah, Joe Posnanski has been a bit of a bitch lately.

- Liverpool will probably win the Carling Cup, meaning Arsenal can return to being the only club that can't win silverware. YAY.

- The White Sox will be sporting some sexy unies on Sundays at home this year.

- Trees can make music, kind of. [via Nate]

- Reducer. God what an awful soccer week.

- Painting a portrait of a basketball player while using only a basketball is pretty cool.

- Funbag.

- Prince Fielder to the Tigers. Fuck.

- I didn't want to give such a stupid article attention, but why not? Imagine LeBron going back to the Cavs. Hah!

01/23/2012

- Joe Paterno was a great football couch.

- A long time ago, Bill Simmons wrote an awful piece about female tennis players and how hot he thought they were. This is as entertaining as it is offensive... or are those the same thing?

- Yeah, FU Skip Bayless.

- Starbucks will start selling alcohol in some of its locations. I wonder if the one in Aon's building is one of them...

- A breakdown of Sportscenter's coverage helps explain why I so badly want(ed) NBC Sports Network to offer a worthwhile alternative. Unfortunately, its alternative has sucked so far.

01/20/2012

- Mets fans rejoice! You can now buy pieces of Citi Field's historic, three-year-old wall!

- Here's a ridiculous list of the 100 best pitching matchups of 2011. I don't think I care about the 10 best pitching matchups of all time, so... yeah this is just too much. [via Matt]

- Goodbye Megaupload. It was nice while it lasted.

- GMiDHF.

01/18/2012

- Today's a day full of SOPA/PIPA commotion. To start, Google explains its stance.

- Hey look, I'm on Deadspin.

- Haha, high school kids are dumb.

- Other sites are explaining their reasons for not blacking out today to protest SOPA/PIPA, so I figured I'd join them. At Rezmanbrown, we are far too lazy to mess with any sort of color schemes or HTML code just for one day. Not worth it. Also this whole blackout thing is kind of annoying.

- Apparently there's only one "Bob" left in all of the major American sports: Bob Sanders. Can this be true? Also, that's pretty strange, right?

- #6 - Perhaps this'll be a weekly thing, but I'll need an acronym for it or something. Anyway, from now through the rest of the season, Deadspin will have a weekly EPL post. Here ya go!

01/17/2012

- SVPPPPPPPPPPPP.

- Painful Reducer.

- On January 12 I posted a random article about Totally Drug-Resistant TB. Here's an interesting update.

- Funbag.

- Google's joining in on the SOPA/PIPA protests tomorrow. Something to do with their home page. Should rezmanbrown do the same? Want me to pull the plug on the site for the day? I feel rmb is probably too important to do that.

Monday, January 16, 2012

01/16/2012

- Wikipedia is going dark on Wednesday in protest of PIPA. Do you know what PIPA is?

- Yeah, JoePa is probably full of shit.

- Any paranoid people out there? If you want to sign into your Google account without typing anything, check this out.

- If you've ever been frustrated by a stuck vending machine item, then this article's for you! Although this stuff really isn't very new...

- I had never heard of the donkey punch before. Oof.

- Lots of AJ Daulerio roasts all in one post! What a great way to send you guys into the weekend.

01/12/2012

- Jamboroo. Good lord today sucks. Got any stories? Send them my way.

- ESPN has gone way overboard in its Tim Tebow coverage. Seriously, it's insane.

- Facebook now lets you listen to music with friends. So pointless, right?

And now, two random picks to finish the day...

- Kwame Brown's season likely over after he hurt himself fouling someone.

- Totally resistant TB: earliest cases in Italy.

- Math problems in Georgia are simply amazing. Oh to be young again. [via Jason]

- ESPN has intelligently deduced that Tim Tebow is America's favorite athlete. This is based on an ESPN poll of 1502 people, in which Tebow received 3% of the votes.

- Motorola is looking to improve on the fragmented Android device market by focusing on fewer, more improved devices in 2012. I support this approach; there are way too many Android phones right now that are nearly identical. I think their efforts can be used better in making major improvements.

- This article is roughly 12 years too late, but whatever. Check out 100-year predictions that came true! [via Nate]

- Something about a dude who stole a cop car. [via Megan]

01/10/2012

- Reducer.

- Google's making search more personal. These changes don't look too interesting to me, but maybe they will to you.

- Here's a good article on concussions in football. I know the issue is old to most of you, but I still find it interesting. The sport has some tough times ahead.

- Too bad for anyone wanting Bud Selig gone: he's expected to get a two-year extension. While I don't like a lot of what Selig's done, at least there haven't been any major labor disputes in baseball for a while. None of the other major sports can say that.

- Having a constant erection cannot be fun. Right? [via Matt]

- #6 - Funbag.

01/09/2012

- Dunkin Donuts introduced the TODAY donut to celebrate the TODAY show. They even made a donut cake!

- Walgreens is opening a high-end store in the Loop, which will include things such as "a humidor, international newsstand, made-to-order smoothies, self-serve frozen yogurt, sushi and juice bars, and a barista selling exclusive State & Randolph brand coffee." A bit strange, but I would still like to check it out. Also, what is State & Randolph brand coffee?

- In case anybody here is still following the topic, Charlie Sheen is apparently not crazy anymore. Good to know.

- Here's an argument in support of college football superconferences.

- Thierry Henryyyyyyyyyy. Also, he was most definitely onside.

Friday, January 6, 2012

- Throwback unies!

- Scotch in a can? Scotch in a can.

- GMiDHF.

- Jim Rome is leaving ESPN for CBS. And with that, I am OUT.

01/05/2012

- Yahoo! could buy Netflix. Does that give you a secure feeling about Netflix's future?

- At this point, it's kind of old news, but thought I'd still share that Carlos Zambrano is headed to the Miami Marlins. Even though Mark Buehrle is also on the team, I'm going to have a tough time rooting for them.

- Forget leap years; leap seconds are way cooler.

- It's a jamboroo type of day.

- Here's a kind of interesting read about Andrew Luck and excitement in NCAA football vs. NFL football.

- 6th thing! I support the 550 Challenge.

Wednesday, January 4, 2012

01/04/2012

- Joe Torre quit his MLB job in hopes of buying the Dodgers. Do you think he'll get his job back if he fails?

- The UK's Royal Mint released a coin that explains the offside rule in soccer. That's kind of strange, right?

- Over the next few days, Deadspin will be roasting their former editor, AJ Daulerio. I'll post about this just once, as I assume most of you don't care.

- Tim Howard rules, except that Everton still lost.

- Man U also lost though, so it's OK.

- Check out the trailer for the first Netflix original series.

- Reducer, with a nice shout-out to Bob Dylan!
