12/27/2012
This will likely be my final post of 2012. So I'm going to post only those articles that always pop up at this point: Best/Worst of the year lists.

- I think Phoenix's new observation tower looks pretty cool.
- Found myself actually laughing as I read through the 15 best Peter Gammons tweets of the year.
- Oh Aubrey Plaza, you're the best. [video]
- What happens when you throw a pot of boiling water off a balcony in -41 degree weather?
- Pizza Hut has accomplished quite a feat. They've managed to put a pizza within a pizza. And it really looks pretty disgusting to me.
- Jamboroo.

- Sometimes I see posts that try to come up with the best soccer lineup in the EPL (or other leagues, or whatever). I think I like figuring out the worst lineup instead. Hello, Gervinho! And Ramsey and Santos, of course.

- Here's part 1 of an entertaining interview with three writers from the Fire Joe Morgan blog (who are now all Parks and Rec writers).
- Chris Ryan's got some more EPL goals for us this week. It's like he wants to be the Reducer but won't commit to it. Sheesh.
- One of Google Music's major drawbacks has always been that you have to actually upload all of your music to the cloud in order to listen to it. Apple's plan of just granting you access to a version of each of your songs that already exist in the cloud makes a lot more sense to me, and now Google is pursing that method as well. Good.
- Facebook is apparently bringing video ads to news feeds. Man, do I hope adblock takes care of those. If not, I reaaallllyyy hope they don't have sound...
- Funbag.

- Apparently some of the manager vs. umpire confrontations are not what they seem. Which makes me wonder why they exist at all.
- YYYs new album next spring.
- 5-2 to the Arsenal! It's bad that I am excited about this win over the worst team in the league. WHATEVER. Reading allows more goals than David Hasselhoff.
- Butler could be joining the new Catholic 7 Conference (or whatever the hell it will be called), which doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
- Google Play is doing a holiday countdown with new deals each day. I'll bet I use none of them.

- Merry Christmas, dog. [video]
- Jamboroo.
- People won't stop talking about how Google Maps is way better than Apple Maps. So I'm posting it here so that all of you iPhone users know to go get Google Maps.
- Here's an interesting article on Sam Bowie (the guy picked before Michael Jordan in the draft).
- Conference realignment! The Big East is completely fucked.

Happy 12/12/12! It happens once every billion years.
- 2012 in review, Zeitgeist style. [video]
UPDATE: Anyone else see this? Yessssssss.
- DD is getting in on the 12/12/12 fun.
- Here's Chris Ryan (f u, I won't call you the Reducer any more you jackass) popping up once again just to remind me of Arsenal's failure. Not like I wasn't already watching the looping animated GIF over and over.
- More end of the year crap? Sure. Check out your Facebook year in review by going to facebook.com/yearinreview. Check out mine here. Pretty exciting stuff.
Random article time? Yeah, sounds good!

- In Per We Trust.
- OMG! A Reducer sighting!
- Yes (the band) will play three full albums each night on their upcoming tour, however, Fragile is not one of the albums, so what's the point?
- Check out the Modern Seinfeld twitter page. Some pretty good stuff. Ex: "George tries online dating, meets a gorgeous woman but breaks up with her because she needed online dating."
QotD: "We all know that if you focus on the Tebow story, for the next 10 minutes you're going to do better. But the question is trying to take a long-term perspective and saying, 'Guys, let's not get over excited about one story and hyping it.'" - John Skipper, ESPN president. Better late than never.

- Because there's never enough Girls in this world, here's a deleted scene. Guhh... [video]
- My goodness, this is the most in-depth Walking Dead infographic you will ever need/want to see.
- See the world through an airplane window. Doha looks cool. [via Matt]
- Meet Google Communities, the next feature in Google+ that many of you probably won't use. Maybe I'll create a RMB community.
- Jamboroo.
QotD: "We have to play accordingly and our fans have to show up accordingly, which we know they will. Hopefully, they're super-duper drunk. ... So drink liquor, not beer." - Chad Greenway, Vikings linebacker

- Greatest choir ever? I think yes.
- Jason Schwartzman + Bill Murray + Aubrey Plaza = movie worth seeing, even if it also includes Charlie Sheen. [video]
- Charles Schulz, Snoopy creator, was a bit of a dog himself (apologies for the awful zing).
- Hollywood Squares... Parks and Rec style!
- Chicago State to the... WAC?

- Maybe it's time for Facebook to just die already.
- Good quote from this article, which is somewhat on Arsene Wenger's awesome coat: "a coat that starts from the basic proviso that whatever else happens out there having slightly cold knees must be avoided at all costs"
- Funbag.
- This headline made me laugh.
- Meet the New Orleans Pelicans. Fear not, it looks like the Hornets name is moving back to Charlotte.

- 21,000 stuffed bears being thrown onto the ice is a pretty cool sight.
- Nate's favorite basketball player is Steve Nash, so here's a Classical article on him.
- The title of this article in my RSS feed is "Book shows Whitney through the years." Is it my fault for thinking they meant Whitney from Whitney?
- Eric Schmidt book next year. Will you read it?
- NIU fans [are] pumped for the Orange Bowl.

Bowl Season!
Welcome friends, to another year of college football bowl season! You should have received an email with a template to fill out your picks. If not, ask me for one or just fill out your picks using the bowl page and send them my way.
Last year we saw Adam set a record for most points (28), while Matt continued his consistency in strong finishes. What will this year bring? Stay tuned!
