- Google has officially acquired Motorola Mobility.

- I wonder if this has ever happened before: the same fan caught back-to-back home run balls.

- The results of this study should surprise nobody: according to the Flesch-Kincaid readability test, the grade level of Rick Reilly's writing is the lowest of sportswriters tested, with a level of 5.2. Obviously, the reason for this low rating is up for debate, but I choose to interpret it (likely inaccurately) as Rick Reilly being stupid. Also, I bet the grade level of my "writing" is even lower.

- Funbag.

- Close out your day with a couple of Veep-related PSAs. Fun!
... OK only one PSA and an outtake. Still good enough.

  4. i never remember to pay attention during the opening credits but i always catch some glimpses of what's going on that makes it seem like she was running for president and then her campaign collapsed and she settled for veep -- they should elaborate on that or maybe they did since i didn't actually look at the rest of her youtube channel -- can you back me up on that or am i crazy

  5. i guess i should point out that journos are typically encouraged to write around the 5th grade level just in terms of conveying information but that doesn't undermine the possibility -- or reality -- of rick reilly's stupidity

  6. Yeah, I kind of figured as much, which is why I made sure to point out that I was probably wrong (or at the very least making an unfair assumption) about Reilly's intelligence. It could just as easily mean that his audience is stupid. Or both, which I do honestly believe.

  7. The intro shows that she's running for president, but has to settle for VP - you are correct. The funny part about it is that her facial expression goes from giddy/optimistic with the "Selina could win election!" headline to sad with the "Meyer settles for vice president" headline.

I haven't watched her youtube channel, and I don't think they've said much about her failed campaign. I agree, it could make for an interesting story. Especially with her seemingly strained relationship with the president (and the first lady, heh).

  9. Of the shows I watch, it's one that I enjoy more, so I hope it sticks around for at least a little longer. But the formula already needs a bit of a change.
