- Here's definitive proof that Apple (and other companies) can just crank out the same thing year after year and most people wouldn't notice.
- EPL is on Fox three times in the next three months! But they'll be tape-delayed... LAMESAUCE.
- For those of you not familiar with the concept of Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon, read here first. Got it? OK, now go to Google and type in "bacon number" followed by the name of an actor. For example, bacon number nick offerman.
- eBay has a new logo. I think it is unoriginal and sucks.
- This week's Jamboroo focuses on how "football is the hardest sport to explain to children and stupid people." I really don't remember learning the sport, but I definitely agree with that statement. I also think that statement helps explain why football is a stupid sport. If it's difficult to explain, then it's not intuitive. If it's not intuitive, then it's stupid.
- Finally someone answered the question we're all dying to know: what if baseball's foul lines ran on forever?

ReplyDeletedoes your intuition conclusion apply to everything or just sports
ReplyDeleteI'm initially going to say just sports. Not sure about everything.
ReplyDeletemore like what if baseball's foul lines ran on for a couple states and then faded away
ReplyDeletei think the professionalization of sports is the real problem because if you think of pickup football as like one team can throw or run the ball the other team tries to stop them nbd which is totally less complicated than the simplest explanation you could put together for baseball just for sheer number of positions and play stoppage
ReplyDeleteYeah, fair point. I was hoping to see them go into other continents!
ReplyDeleteThe professionalization could for sure be part of it, and I know every sport has at least some nuances. So maybe post-professionalization, football is the most confusing. Pre-professionalization I feel like there probably aren't that many counter-intuitive sports. I bet in order for a sport to exist, it had to be intuitive at some point, right?
