- Will Leitch is in favor of parents deciding their children's favorite sports teams. I disagree with this. Perhaps it's because growing up I wasn't forced to like the Cubs (hah yeah scratcho you totally used to like them), or the Bulls (yep, I cried in 1993). I don't view sports teams as some sort of a family value or tradition that needs to be passed through generations. I disagree with anyone who has a view like that. Also, I don't agree that whatever sports team you root for when you're six will be a sports team you will root for forever. That's dumb.
- Good article detailing ESPN's history that has led to its current mess, which includes this quote: "If the network doesn't talk about hockey—and the evidence is strong that, lacking an NHL television contract, it won't—the nation doesn't talk about hockey, either." Reminds me of a blog post I made two years ago.

ReplyDeletefireworks are stupid because they have to last the duration of a show but if you set off all your fireworks at once then that's cool or if your fireworks budget is x times the budget of a typical fireworks show where x is the number of fireworks intervals in a typical fireworks show thereby creating a fireworks show where each interval is all your typical fireworks show's fireworks at once
