- NHL's Winter Classic may be played during some suspect conditions that make me question whether it's fair, but I still enjoy watching it. So hearing about a day-after-Thanksgiving game at first sounds interesting. But what will draw people to watch it? The article didn't mention playing the game outside, so it seems like just another hockey game to me. I mean, I'll still watch it, but will anyone else?

- If I were an iPhone user, I'd be pumped that Gmail now has an app. Finally!
UPDATE: Apparently the app was removed from the shelves pretty soon after its release. Had some sort of bug, I guess. I think it'll be back soon.

- OK, I know I've probably annoyed you with my repetitive posts about Google Reader's new design, but I think this review is pretty accurate. Seriously, the new design BLOWS.

- The Cubs canned Mike Quade, a move that surprised nobody. Some say that this makes way for good ol' Ryne Sandberg to return to the Cubs. But wait! The Cardinals are interested in him for their open managerial position! Oh the drama.

- Weekly Reducer! I swear I'm going to miss it one week. Lucky I remembered this time around. Sure, it shows up in my news feed, but it's easy to miss. I tend to ignore most Grantland posts.

- 6! - It may not be good to take lyrics literally, and this may be two months old, but I was entertained. Probably because I'm not a Katy Perry fan. And this song is terrible. [via Matt]

  1. These google reader posts suck because I don't even use it.

  2. that's how i feel about every droid baseball football basketball hockey post

and i don't even care about the reader sharing features i just want it to be less ugly and more functional or just less ugly please

  3. Yeah a lot of people complain about the sharing stuff, but I don't care about it either. I keep encountering random bugs, plus it's slow, plus it's ugly, plus it's difficult to use/read.

  4. just to first say that i’m a huge fan of the song, i want to point out the conceptual weirdness of the lyrics wherein she’s reminiscing from the standpoint of the day after and refers to yesterday as last friday night — which you would never say ‘last xxxday night’ you would just say ‘last night’ or ‘yesterday’

also if you miss the reducer i won't notice...

also can you frame individual comments -- not a huge deal but would be a better look too i think

    also

    kiss me, k-k-kiss me

  5. I'll look into framing individual comments.

And your last "also" alludes to KP's greatest song by far. HANDS DOWN.

  6. the lines look pretty good except it looks like it's double-lining between rezmanbrown@2:47pm and nate@5:27pm i dunno why or if it looks like that to you

    also it's more like

firework > teenage dream > last friday night > hot n cold > the one that got away > california gurls >>>>>>>>>>> et

for some reason et is equivalent to kesha's blow for us where it's the only one you like and it's one that i don't like but i like some of the other ones though i don't like nearly as many kesha songs as katy perry songs but in terms of popstars i can only think of mariah carey as coming anywhere close to katy perry in terms of liking as many songs -- necessarily something to point out in terms of liking pop music rather than an artist i.e. cher or jb or etc

  7. The double line appears between main comments. There have only been two starter comments today, and the rest have been replies.

I know the lines don't look the best, but there isn't an easy way to frame the comments. If I have some time I might look into it more, but this'll do for now.

  8. all of her songs suck. Anyone who likes her doesn't listen to the lyrics closely enough.
